Katalin has been featured in SHAPE Magazine as one of the country’s best trainers. She has 29 years experience in the martial arts, 20 years in boxing, 16 years in the fitness industry and 12 years as an international speaker and presenter for the fitness and martial arts industry. She holds black belts in Japanese and Okinawan karate, kung fu and tae kwon do. With a background in various martial arts, she has also taught children throughout her career. She has run a program at Montessori Academy of Chicago (MAC) in the West Loop called Martial Movement. This class was developed exclusively for MAC’s students ages 3 to 7.
Katalin is the mother of three children Jackson Diego 3, Isis 2, and Colt 6 months. She has a line of several exercise/fitness DVDs. Her most recent workout dvd is for the pre and post natal community offering 6 workouts in English and Spanish. As the Owner of POW! MMA and Fitness which is the home for POW! Kids Chicago and Chicago Krav Maga, Katalin brings several different charity opportunities to her students. Over her career she has allied herself with the Better Boys Foundation to help organize a Boxing Event sponsored by Trump Casino. Since 2007 alone, Katalin and POW have raised money for St. Jude’s Children’s Charity through an annual event, Breast Cancer Research, participated in building a home on Chicago’s south for the Habitat for Humanity and led a toy drive for Clara’s House, a homeless shelter in Chicago. Her current non-for-profit work includes time for Chicago’s Children’s Museum, St. Jude’s, Lifesource where she hosts a yearly blood drive and is now working with El Valor a Chicago organization that helps to provide internships for adults with mental disabilities. Katalin was also proud to have POW! Kids as a main reward sponsor for Skinner West Elementary’s 2011-2012 Boxtops For Education drive, which collected over 5,000 boxtops for the CPS school.
